Accessibility Review

Accessibility is a key focus of our work. Our team includes a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) accredited by the National Home Builders Association, who leads these assessments. Our primary goal is to evaluate the home’s design and layout to identify risks, hazards, and necessary modifications that will improve mobility and accessibility within the living space. In this part of our analysis, we provide recommendations on eliminating potential dangers and suggest changes to enhance both safety and ease of movement throughout the home.

Assistive Technology Review

Our focus here is on enhancing functionality. With extensive experience in cutting-edge technologies designed to support seniors and individuals with physical challenges, we offer solutions that assist with daily tasks and improve overall independence. As physical limitations increase with age, the ability to function independently can diminish. In this section of the analysis, we recommend affordable technological solutions that help automate, manage, and control home systems and devices, extending the possibility of Aging in Place by making everyday tasks more manageable.

Health, Wellness, and Safety Review

As home increasingly becomes the primary point of care for seniors and individuals with physical challenges, the focus on health, wellness, and safety is more critical than ever. New technologies now allow for the monitoring of key health indicators—such as fall detection and medication compliance—while keeping family caregivers and medical professionals informed, all without compromising privacy. Telemedicine has evolved from simple phone calls to the integration of real-time patient data, greatly enhancing its value. Additionally, this information can be securely shared with a trusted network of family and caregivers. In this part of our inspection and evaluation, we’ll explore and recommend ways to connect with this rapidly evolving care landscape.

Innovative “Small Homes” for Seniors

ADU’s (Accessory Dwelling Units)

Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) can offer several benefits for seniors, providing a practical and flexible housing option that promotes independence while offering safety, convenience, and even financial advantages. ADUs enable seniors to stay on their property as they age, which means they can remain in familiar surroundings without having to downsize to a retirement community or assisted living facility. Having an ADU on a family member's property allows seniors to live independently but with easy access to support if needed. Family members can help with daily tasks, transportation, or health-related needs. Seniors can reduce fall risks by eliminating stairs, improving lighting, and using slip-resistant flooring, which may not be as easily adjusted in larger, older homes. This independent lifestyle supports mental well-being, giving seniors a sense of autonomy and control over their daily lives.
